- the menu.
I like to watch food network. A lot. If it’s not food network, it’s a crime show. Eating and violence typically finish up my evenings.
Anyway.
I remember hearing about this restaurant through food network, Slater’s 50/50, a hamburger joint. It looked phenom on the TV so naturally I needed to experience it in person. Ryan and I decided to check it out for dinner, a much needed recovery from the Disneyland exhaustion the day before. We got there around 4ish Sunday evening expecting it not to be too busy. There was a 45 minute wait but it seemed like we waited less…

- ryan+I; HUNGRYYYYY
When we were seated, we ordered the “vampire dip” as an appetizer (suggestion courtesy of Yelpers); garlic, butter, and artichoke in a sourdough bowl served with pita chips. Verdict: inhaled in 5 minutes (mutually between the two of us)

Next up. Main course. The burger. It’s named 50/50 because it’s 50% ground beef and 50% bacon. BACON. It was cooked perfectly, was absolutely delicous, memorable, and unique. I chose the standard 50/50 that they’re famous for and ryan went with an original that he named on his own (The Bleu Mesa; bleu cheese, beer-battered onions, chipolte mayo, 50/50 patty, wheat bun, and american cheese). His was pretty good, but I preferred mine. Never had an egg on a burger before but goodness was it worth it.

- The big one, my dinner
The next time I’m in SoCal, I will be going to Slater’s. Service was ok, food was wonderful. Probably going to dream about this one for a while… honestly, the burger was almost as memorable as Disneyland. I forgot to include something from Disneyland yesterday. I bought this cute purse from the vinylmation line. It was perfect for the park!

Bittersweetly home now, back in Arizona. The cats, bearded dragon, and chinchilla missed us.

I like this post!
I like Sarah making real journal entries again! Yay! (yes, yes – I know my blog is severely mistreated right now. I plan to get on that asap). I owe you a phone call, missy. <3<3<3
